Responsibilities

Worship Pastor:

  • Create a biblical, engaging worship experience for regular weekly services, special events, and outreaches.

  • Oversee and coordinate all worship team members including singers, musicians, and sound/media team.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor vocalists, musicians, and sound/media team members. 

  • Raise up, develop and empower worship leaders from within the church.

  • Coordinate weekly rehearsals and other gatherings for worship and discipleship.

  • Create a place for the presence of God as a priority; desire the movement of the Holy Spirit during services.

Assistant Pastor:

  • Support the Senior Pastor in the overall vision casting and leadership of the church’s teaching.

  • Work with the Senior Pastor to ensure weekend services are planned and executed.

  • Communication skills to effectively preach several times a year. 

  • Able to recruit, teach, train, spiritually support and effectively supervise volunteers for adult small groups and adult ministries within the church. 

  • Occasionally conduct funerals and weddings.

  • Lead Small Groups as needed including the Alpha Course 

 

Qualifications

  • Give evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, financial stewardship).

  • Possesses personality, temperament and interpersonal skills to relate and serve effectively within a multi-generational congregation setting 

  • True worshipper in private as well as public life.

  • Provide pastoral care for the entire worship team at church, including proactive scheduling of one-on-one’s with members

  • Humble heart that is able to balance musical excellence and care for others

  • Servant, team-oriented approach to leading others as the lead servant

  • Proficient musical skill and lead voice.  

  • Open to the movement and gifts of the Holy Spirit

  • Doctrinally aligned with First Sebring’s Statement of Faith, doctrinal positions, mission, and core values.

  • Give evidence of a strong work ethic and personal integrity

  • A Spiritual leader to the staff that encourages, challenges and holds them accountable to their walk with God both at an individual and group level.

Preferences

  • Anglican/Wesleyan theological background is preferred but not required.

  • Passion for Recovery or Prison Ministry preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with the Alpha Course and 24-7 Prayer Movement preferred but not required.
